This week on the podcast Wally Hipolito had me come on a special Saturday sports weekend preview of his podcast. The conversation ended up being a bit big picture and I thought it would be great for the feed. We discuss the NBA Conference Finals and look all of the potential matchups for the finals. We are ramping up production and this week we have another episode. This week we are importing a podcast from another feed. I recently did an away game with the homey Mickell Ford on his Podcast I Watched This As An Adult. It’s a podcast that takes on the duties of watching movies from the past that you were probably fond of but with a fresh set of eyes and cinematic standards. In this particular episode, we review ‘Romeo Must Die’ staring Aaliyah, Jet Li and somehow DMX makes it on the poster as well. It had been at least 15 years since I had watched the movie. I thought I was going to be thrilled to get nostalgic about my days but in fact, when we break down the film, we discussed some of the problematic things in the film that was much more prevalent in 2000. This also gave me an excuse to bust out my DMX impression. I didn’t love it as much as I wanted to but I was completely captivated by Aaliyah’s performance. If you are a fan of hers it’s a must-watch but everyone else could probably live without it. Thanks for listening!

A few weeks back I was as ready as could be to talk protest and how we make things actually change. I’m the first to admit I am not plugged in and every so often, you need the plug. I hit up Amber Sherman from “The Law According To Amber”. A podcast where out here doing the public a service and actually putting people on game when it comes to their rights. This is also the first of my make up sessions from a lost series of podcasts that I recorded last year. Nonetheless Amber is out of Memphis and she has a knack for shaking things because the true way to make a difference in the community at the local level. We break down what you can do to make a difference and also hold myself accountable.

I discuss what home team Falcons have done so far and why Browns are a startup company. Then I jump into Future two new albums Future and HNDRXX which could be related to the lawsuit he currently has with Rocko and A-1 Records. I wrap by talking about my favorite person right now Lavar Ball. The father of the Ball boys who started his own brand for them and has taking quite the backlash for having the nerve to own his own name. As you can see I'm on Ball's side of things.

Has it been that long? With the 74 episode over the course of 4 years, I had some high points and very quiet low points. Maybe this your first one. Maybe you heard some and I made you mad because there was no pod for 6 months. Whatever the case this podcast was made to show you what we are capable of and highlight some of the bright spots on the internet.

Wudup Doe!? This week on the podcast we talk a lot of Atlanta Falcons because Sunday there is one last game in the Georgia Dome. It's probably the most meaningful game at the soon to be demolished building. There was an NFC Championship game in 2014 where the Atlanta Falcons gave up a 14 point lead to the then unstoppable, pre-"Freedom Fro" Colin Capernick. Only this time it't the actually unstoppable Aaron Rodgers that's in town with 52 cheesy challengers. So could you see why some of the die hard fans don't believe. I also had a lot of questions on how we got here in the first place so I called up friend of the podcast Aaron Freeman of FalcFans and the Locked On Falcons podcast, to figure out what's changed with the Dirty Birds and why they won't go back to who they were.

Will Dak Prescott have a rookie moment at the wrong time? We preview those answers and throw a lil NBA Talk.

The Dallas Cowboys have a decision to make in whether to keep Dak Presscott starting or go back to Tony Romo. I understand there is momentum to protect. It seems that the media and the fans believe more in the narrative of Tony Romo being a screw up or someone who can't win when it counts instead of what he is. Which is he is a to 10 quarterback in the league. Sometimes you have to look at the stats and look at the sum parts. Dak isn't ask to do a whole lot and it's working. With Romo being out a few more weeks, the decision for the Dallas Cowboys will be even harder.

This week on the podcast we interview Toronto HipHop Artist Shah. We talk about his new single "Riding Shotty With God" and his upcoming A3C performance. Then we pull up on Eazy's Life from the home team and we get into so NFL storylines like the Same Bradford trade and are the Atlanta Falcons for real?

Today on the podcast, the home team discuss the recent Draymond Green suspension that was a result of the dust up with LeBron James. He is out of tonight's NBA Finals Game 5 match-up between Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors. After that we get into the recent battle on another court. Rocko is suing Future for $10 Million after finding out Future had cut some side deals with epic. According to the story, Rocko is missing his 25% advance cut and 20% the 360 deal with Epic. With Rocko being the gateway for Future to get into the industry, you would think there would be some "street" loyalty.

With a slew of new music that just hit from so many directions Eazy and CL talked about the new material from Drake, Chance The Rapper, Gucci Mane and how we can't tell whats an album and what's not.

Jamie is renowned TV enthusiast and I wanted to discuss some of the Fall TV lineup. One of the stars of Fall TV is Shonda Rhimes. Between one of my favorite shows "How to get away with Murder", "Scandal" and "Grey's Anatomy" she is running Thursdays on ESPN. We have the table the discussion by looking at her effect of amount of color we see on TV. In the last few years we see Empire, Blackish, Power, Mr. Robinson, The Carmichaels, and a few more really see benefit of a going in on the fact that black people watch TV too. We also get into Mr. Robot, The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore, Spider-Man as Miles Morales, and get her suggestions on what else watch.

Wudup people after a layoff of a couple weeks we coming with a double dose. On this episode we jump into the Michael Vick backlash in Pittsburg and answer the question of why Michael Vick could never come back to Atlanta.(Hint: wheelchair) If your a Steeler fan who doesn't Michael Vick you might be disappointed by this episode. We follow that up by having a debate on whether Russell Wilson is much better than Ryan Tannehill.We close out the podcast by running it down about the recent pictures of Drake and Serena Williams.

Since we been on a bit of a hiatus. This week we are doing a dose of podcast. On this episode I welcome back Keith Nelson Jr. of #Cultured Approved and any website who accepts freelance writing (kidding..sorta). Keith had previously been on the podcast over a year ago and I still am getting feedback from that episode this day. So when the rap game decided beef was decided over tweets and not bars I could express what I wanted to say in a 140 characters and neither could Keith. We discuss the beef between Meek Mill, Joe Budden, Drake and what light Nicki Minaj has put on him. We also get into one of the sub conversation of when is it ok to use someone else's lyrics as a premier rapper and in general. Since this is an Atlanta bred website we wrap up talking about some the random ATL rappers that got involved with the beef and where Future is heading after "Dirty Sprite 2". Then a little about rap nostalgia vs. other genres fascination with it.

So here is my second step in new direction for #DaRundown South. In this episode I wanted to look into the behavior of Rachel Dolezal as she took over the headlines on the nightly news, The Today Show, and lead to plenty of old people on Skype calls on TV. This is a white woman who basically rose up the ranks of black society, like an undercover cop infiltrating a caretel, to be the head of a NAACP chapter in Spokane, WA. I know it might be a little late but I take more time to digest what's going on. I had more questions than answers. I was more interested on how we got here in the first place.

Since I don't write much, I guess you can call this an Audio Blog post.

Hey its that time again. We have some new friends on the podcast this week. I have KC and Chris Lehman from BlackisOnline.com. Some infrequent and a few mainstays they touch on music, sports, entertainment, relationships and the list goes on, in my own words, all from the perspective that it is different to be black in America.

I hope you have been enjoying the new format and amount of content we are bringing.  Today Slim joins me again to preview the Super Bowl, talk about the Miami Heat getting blown out by the Oklahoma City Thunder the other day, and David Stern retiring and Jason Whitlock being very critical of the commish.

Wudup doe! #DaRundown Sports comes for the second time week. Joining me on this episode is new friend of the show Brian Anderson (@MrAnderson035)from Rant Sports.  I had to have him on because what Kevin Durant and Oklahoma City Thunder are doing right now. Durant has been putting up 40 like he's on NBA2K14. (By the way I'm using the nick name Iceberg Slim because I'm agreeing with Jalen Rose.) We dove in about the other pieces that are making the team roll so hard. We agree it has something to do with Reggie Jackson and Scotty Brooks.

Wudup doe! Its #DaRundown Sports coming for a second time this week and to hold you over before the  big game. Slim (@Eazyslife) and I discuss plenty today. For starters Slim gave his takes from the NFL Championship Weekend and all the Richard Sherman overreactions.  From there he offers up his "Bridesmaids Theories" on the San Francisco 49ers and the Indiana Pacers. To put it quickly you have the 49ers who have been to three straight  NFC Championship games. He drew a comparison to Buffalo Bills of the early 90's. They won four straight AFC titles and lost in the Super Bowl every time. I feel they resemble the Donovan McNabb and Brian Dawkins' lead Eagles in the 2000's. They went to four straight NFC title games and went the Super Bowl the last time in the run and lost to the Tom Brady New England Patriots. Either one you can see the similarities of going deep in the playoffs and coming up short of the ultimate goal a championship. The 49ers are coming short and it will be something to watch over the years and to see what kind of narrative is built up over the years.
