While John was too busy playing Trivial Pursuit and charades with strangers, Colin, Adam, and Dustin (of course, Seni had homework to do or something like that) got together and discussed the basics of Calvinism. Calvinism 101, if you will. And you will. We started out by going over the 5 Solas (Sola Scriptura, Sola Gratia, Sola Fide, Solus Christus, Soli Deo Gloria) and then ended with the Doctrines of Grace (affectionately dubbed TULIP – Total Depravity, Unconditional Election, Limited Atonement, Irresistible GracePerseverance of the Saints). It was a great time, and you should listen. Cheers and A– er, I mean Cheerio Fine Lads!

14: Philosophy of Voting & 9 Marks On The Gospel And Culture
Published:

This week we had a great discussion on voting. It’s a timely issue and needs to be seriously thought about by all Christians. How should we support the existing government? Should we dissent? Is there such thing as a wasted vote? We covered the RPCNA’s voting stance, mostly focusing on the supremacy clause of the US Constitution (stating that the supreme authority is itself and the laws made) and the religious pluralism upheld by the First Amendment (explicitly denying the First Commandment). Then we discussed an article on the 9Mark website (see link below) regarding the Gospel and Culture. We encourage you all to visit the page and engage them in the comment section! Cheers folks!

Dustin was gone this week, but somehow we managed to keep the humor for the first segment. Jovan Mackenzy (Von Frasier), creator of the original #DatPostmil intro song, joined us to confront our Batman blasphemies from Episode 10. We took his rebuke into consideration and charged forward with some meatier eschatological discourse. In the second segment, we discussed the four primary views concerning the millennium of Revelation 20 (DispensationalismHistoric PremillennialismAmillennialism, and Postmillennialism) as well as the origins and history behind those terms. After that we discussed the various views concerning the New Testament use of the Greek term Parousia—the “coming” of Christ. We wrapped it all up in the last segment with a brief synopsis of the four basic interpretive frameworks for New Testament prophetic literature (FuturismPreterismHistoricismIdealism) and how they relate to the four primary views on the millennium!

Jeff explained to us what’s new and what we can expect to see/hear from them in the near future. We also talked about how Jeff is not actually a ninja (though he vigorously defended it) and other obviously very important things. Then we talked about what a biblical worldview is and how/why Postmillennilaism and Theonomy are important to a comprehensive biblical worldview. We also talked briefly about how to disagree in a loving fashion, and how to leave others with no excuse to stumble over our behavior. We hope you enjoy!

Check it out, you won’t be sorry!

It was another beautiful day in the Lord’s kingdom, and I was going for a stroll on the beach. After not too long I got the feeling I was being followed. So I looked back, and much to my surprise there were two sets of footprints in the sand. When I looked to my right, I noticed Joel McDurmon walking next to me. I was all, “Hey Joel!
