Each episode we will discuss local and national trends in matters of public health along with the research and evidence that informs Harm Reduction practices. The majority of topics that to be discussed will directly relate to drug policy and its effects on our local Humboldt Community, the State and Nation. We will take a look at how the history of drug policy has gotten us to where we are and how we can move in a positive direction toward the future.
Stigma!

Wow! Episode 9! Thanks for sticking with us! We apologize for taking a while to get this episode out- it's been a busy time over here at HACHR. This episode is all about stigma! What it is, how it's manifesting in our local community, and what can be done to address it. We talk more specifically about some pretty juicy topics including clickbait media, Brandie's drug use, law enforcement, PWUD, and...Our new Executive Director!! This episode is very informative, extra sassy, and also a little longer than usual. We hope you enjoy! Oh, and please excuse the puppy noises! Rebel showed up to work a little late.
Humboldt Politics

We are already on our 8th episode, how exciting! We will also be having our second on-air guest, Eureka City Council member Kim Bergel. She will be talking to us about her experience during the homelessness challenge. She and the rest of Council were challenged to live outside for 48 hours to get a feel for what it's like for our friends and neighbors who are experiencing chronic homelessness and have no where to go- rain or shine, good health or bad. Our second segment will focus on Fortuna City Council and their desire to implement a Syringe Exchange ordinance similar to the one that exists in Eureka, and the unfortunate and inhumane comments that have resulted from their discussion.

It's February, which means we're coming up on the holiday that people either love, or love to hate! Whatever your preference, we thought this would be a good month to talk about sexual health! AND, we get to do it with our first guest ever- Chelsey from our local Planned Parenthood! We get to talk about harm reduction in relation to sexual health, PeP and PreP, and what kind of services our local Planned Parenthood provides! Below are some important links to Humboldt County health data, as well as some information on a training hosted by Planned Parenthood that is coming up in March. Also, please forgive the background noise! This was our first time with someone else in the HACHR studio, so we were getting the hang of it!
