Ben Stait is our special guest this week to share his ideas and thoughts on academy football in Wales in his full time role. Ben has also recently successfully completed a masters degree, I’ll be talking to him about how this links to his day to day coaching.

Aaron Tyler joins #90thmw this week to discuss his journey as a coach which has led him to mentoring others. The challenges of planning sessions to cater for social distance training and his keenness to look into the psychological side of the game.

I talk to Paul about his extensive experience in the game over the last few years, working in the women’s game. With mental health week upon us I also talk to Paul about an important subject in this day and age. Finally in another new feature I get Paul’s championship team of the season so far.

I’m joined by Tony Fawcett this week to discuss his progressive success as manager of Ryton & Crawcrook in Northern League division 2 over the last 3 years. Tony has recently been appointed joint manager of Whitley Bay in division 1. I discuss his thoughts ahead of the new season as well as views on the decisions taken to null and void non-league football round the country due to the coronavirus.

Lloyd joins me to go through his experience of coaching abroad and the cultures associated. I’ll also be going through his new webinars and ambitions for the future. Finally a slight twist on the normal finale to an episode, I’ll be asking Lloyd’s PL team of the season so far.

I speak to Dave Coulthard who provided some in depth match reports last season from the north east non-league football scene. Dave has just recently started his new project for next season and I get his views on what it’s like to be a neutral.

This week I met up with Mike Slater and discussed his first year as Head of Football at one of the top performing universities in the country. There’ll also be an opportunity to talk about the transition from student to coach and how he transfers his delivery from working with adults to foundation phase players in Sunderland’s academy.

I talk to Martin Scott regarding his research into people with speech impediments in sport. There’ll also be discussions around Martin’s journey as a coach in grassroots football.

I talk to Jonathan Gibbon-Hayes about his current role as manager of Hartlepool United women, as well as his previous role within the clubs academy. Jonny and I will also discuss his ambitions for pools as a manager and fan.
