Big Bang model describes the universe to be expanding. It had a beginning in 14 billion years ago. From where it started to expand and it is expanding till now. The pace of the expansion is not slowing down, it is speeding up. It led scientists to think of existence of a mysterious thing that is Dark Energy. This expansion is happening into itself. All this counter intuitive idea came forward with the model and it is known to be the true image of the universe.
Gravitational Wave is the dynamic perturbation in the fabric of Spacetime due to moving objects. Existence of it was predicted by Einstein's General Theory of Relativity in the year 1916. After 100 years of this prediction, in the year 2016 scientists had declared that they have detected this gravitational wave in the two LIGO detectors. This gravitational wave was originated 1.3 billion years ago due to the merging of to black holes.
Till now we haven't encountered alien life except in science fiction stories and movies. May be there are intelligent life or just life in some other planet around some other stars. We need to spot those other worlds and get information to know more about them. Finding other planets is challenging and as well as exciting thing for Astronomers to do. In this episode I discussed how this spotting is done and confirmed. Hope you will enjoy listening that.
Universe is not eternal, it was born and it is evolving. Just like the Universe itself Stars and Galaxies take birth, evolve in time and dies. The violent death provides opportunity to the creation of new. In this 4th Episode of the Podcast I am discussing the death of stars and how some interesting and exciting consequences come out of these phenomena.
The Sun is the Brightest and biggest object in the Solar System. Around 4.6 Billion years ago it was born from a huge cloud of dust and gas. Small particles orbiting around each other and colliding with each other creating massive object at the center with rise in temperature such that nuclear fusion takes place to power it created the Sun as we see it today.
As promised in the end of the last episode that our journey to the history was not over yet then, I have come again to take you back to the time where we stopped in the previous episode. Come along and Enjoy the journey once again.
Just as the universe is vast we have a vast history of the science of this. Astronomy is looking up at the sky and it started many years back when human started looking up and thought about their origin. I will take you through this rich history of the most ancient branch of natural sciences in this episode. Come along and Enjoy.
