The podcast is named t.b.d., a mini-series that involves collaboration with my family and my peers at Stanford. T.b.d is commonly short for "to be determined." This usually means that a precise date or time is yet to be chosen or that something hasn't been figured out yet. This is an important meaning and certainly influences the direction of the podcast, which is an artistic and cultural form that is relatively new and allows for endless possibilities for entertainment, social and cultural discourse, and intellectual discussion. However, t.b.d. can also be interpreted in a more literal sense as a state of being a determined listener, fan, creator, or critic or as an abbreviation of the lifelong journey of self-determination and self-actualization which can be catalyzed by music. T.b.d has been produced and edited into a series of four episodes that cover a variety of topics including music as a technology of the self, habitus, authenticity, group distinct, and hegemony.
