'i bought a mountain' read by peter firbank by Peter James Firbank
Last Updated: May 13, 2023
Dedicated to Bob and Jen Ashton. I, Peter Firbank, am the same age as Thomas Firbank when he at 21 years old "bought a mountain" in the form of the Snowdonian sheep farm Dyffryn Mymbyr in 1931. Over 90 years later this story still brings joy and wonderment to millions of readers around the world. Since staying at Dyffryn in 2021 I am drawn ever closer to Thomas' story and continually proud to carry on the name of Firbank. For this honour I must thank my grandparents who encouraged my parents to resurrect the name for a new generation shortly before Thomas Firbank died in 2000. Please enjoy my reading of Thomas' masterpiece, done in monthly instalments over the course of 2023, 83 years after the book was first published. Cover art: Photography by Peter Firbank 2021.
